The role calculator is back for the next installment of FM - this time, somewhat extended!

Not just roles are included - this time the mentalities you give the players are also included because of slight differences between them. Also, this year another feature is introduced - the "tactical view" which gives you an example of how will the formation work in real life. It can show the overall shape and possible areas of interference between the players.

Just remember, it's just maths; it won't work 100%, so that doesn't do the thinking for you!

Works for Excel 2003 and higher only.

Download

How to use: To calculate a player's suitability for a certain role, insert his stats as such:

On the right, the results will be displayed. Three roles that suit the player most will be highlighted.

To see the tactical display of your tactic, go to the final tab and select players' roles from the dropdown menus as such until the cell on the bottom will be red:

In the end, the result will be displayed on the right:

And that's it! Simple, isn't it?

Great work on this, Xerox. This alongside Dan's training calculator will be very handy for a lot of people.

Looks great Xerox - will be downloading this later, reckon it could be especially useful when scouting. Have you thought about releasing some downloadable shortlists for each position based on the same logic?

Been using this tonight and it's pretty interesting. The 'obvious' results are there but you do find out some pretty interesting positions your players can play. As a result it's useful for player position training!

You're all a bunch of twats

Same here, I used it on the team I manage and now I'm training them in the direction of the stats they're lacking right now to be better on their roles and it seems that it's helping!

forgive me is I sound silly,
Will it work for FM 2010? Since I still prefer 2010 to 2011 because of bug issues.
