Sorry Putzy, meant sites in general and not a slight. Guess with IE, lazy people like me are partly responsible for the lacklustre browser. It maybe crap and maybe I'll try Chrome, but for me it just works.
No worries, I slightly misunderstood, but I agree, it's to do with the laziness of some users just even accepting the Windows updates they get as a popup why the web is so behind.
When XP dies out (and thus IE6, IE7), we can at least consider using HTML5 a lot more in web applications.

Never got on with Firefox. I would have thought that IE6 would be useless for general use now, then again my knowledge of Java and CSS etc. is limited. It adds another level of sense for me in terms of MS trying to push IE8 like they did. Mind you, I thought that SP 3 for XP made IE8 default, or would that be 7?
Putzy. You running Chrome on Linux?

Give Firefox 4 a go for a week, install Adblock plus & Bookmarks deiconizer and what ever other shit you need and come back and tell everyone what you think. I love it anyway, speed being the bonus over Safari & Chrome for me. I would like the URL bar being a search engine like on Chrome, but you can't have everything.
I love boys and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I fucking love getting my arsehole filled in with giant cocks. LOVE IT. Call me if you want some fun 085-747-2321.

You're like a bloody Firefox advertising machine. How much are they paying you? Firefox does not have any speed anymore. It's bloated.
I've also removed your links. It doesn't take a genius to type "Download Firefox" into Google, and we don't run a link farm here.

What harm were my links doing? I was making it easier for him to download it & find the two add-on's.
How about you let him give FF a chance instead of saying flat out no, when yourself have not even given it a good trial, and don't blab on about using the beta's & RC please.

How do you know whether or not I've used Firefox properly? As I said to you before - I'm a developer. I use ANY tool that is available to me to make my job easier. I have my browser open for about 13 hours a day without quitting - I want the best.
I used Firefox 4 on first day of release. It crashed my Mac multiple times, took over 3.2 of my 4GB memory and I couldn't even get most websites with Flash working properly. Any page with more than 2 lines of Javascript took about 5 minutes to load, and I couldn't get CSS files to recache correctly.
Anyway - you're links were turning this topic into a link farm. Simple as. It's not like I've just killed a baby, is it? As I said, it's not hard to google a link to download it, the addons are a simple search bar included in the program - again, simple.

I use Safari since it's built for Mac. I can't live without the grid of favourited screens it would appear. If you dislike Safari, I'd recommend Chrome. I have Firefox also, but I really dislike it's layout and so I don't use it.

Ok, for me, Firefox loads pages faster.
For e.g when I am on here and I click new content, it moves iike turning the page of a book, and I only have around 3mb broadband on my dongle. No flash to white, no loading, it just shows it to me very smoothly.
On Chrome & Safari, the page either goes to white and loads it, or shows the page quickly and the page begins to load from top to bottom.
I am just saying that pages, on the sites I use regularly load faster than on the other two and I have tried all 3 for a good time.
On a PC, Chrome is fastest for me, but on Mac, Firefox 4 is surprisingly fast for me. (Whether that has something to do with the sites I browse or my processor or whatever).
Wonderkid - What don't you like about the layout? It looks very similar to Safari apart from that extra page name bar at the top. (Anyone know how to remove that?) and with full screen browsing coming in Lion, it will look even better.

I'm on about the beta copy, which is different. FF keeps crashing for me, so I don't use it. I'm not saying Safari is perfect; it's not, but I prefer it to FF because of it's features. After that I prefer Chrome because it's very light.
TBH, I don't know why we're debating this. If you like FF –– great; use FF. However, don't force your perspective on everyone else because they don't like it as much as you do. What does it matter who uses what browser either way? The only point in the thread is to make sure this site is compatible for everyone using it; it's not a browser discussion thread.

Ah, well I've got no problems with Safari so I'll stick with it.
