Well this thread died on it's arse.

Anyways -

When I'm training a player in a new position, I want to be able to make it that he plays in the position for the reserves to aid his development.

The font used in the game maybe has been deleted. It's one of the Helvetica ones... Maybe somebody knows which one it is. You will need to download it and place it there again to get it working.
