I'd think there would be plenty of pressure on AVB to perform at Liverpool. Not quite as much as at Chelsea, but still an awful lot.

Not any undue pressure though. Just why you'd expect from a club almost in a 'fallen giant' position.

There's already a very good core of a squad capable of qualifying for the champions league and other resources available to strengthen with realistic aims, whereas At Chelsea, I accept that the some of the pressure is expected but he was in a completely unfair position.

It's easier at Liverpool because it's widely accepted that players need to leave. Chelsea still hold their 'old guard' very highly and taking them out of the team was a near-impossible task. If AVB had the support he needed to rejuvenate the team, he'd have set them on their way to compete with City for the next decade, but Chelsea's lack of foresight undermined that. Add their CL win into the equation and now that puts renovating the team on the back-burner for another season, at least, and all they'll do is add a few players around the ageing squad they have. It'll not be good enough next year, and we'll start this whole thing over again with RDM being sacked. Chelsea = Real Madrid of England, but without the history or prestige.
