Well following a discussion in the Football Manager GD i thought i may aswell post a thread for it. I wondered if anyone had used it before and if i was the original creator for it. But anywhere here's what it is briefly:

So what i tried and succeeded at on a previous game with Swindon was take two players, Zavon Hines and Toni Silva got them both on frees one was more developed than the other and from July 1st to October 1st, i didn't play them once, no reserve games, no friendlies, no first team games. It hindered them for fitness wise, but i put their training on very heavy and one notch below very heavy. Very heavy had amazing results on Toni Silva his physical fitness was awful and took me two weeks to get him fit after, he literally beame a beast, eventually sold to Shaktar six months later for 12M. Hines was on just below he developed very well. During this period their pace and strength very high, aswell as say attacking for one, and shooting for the other depending on the player. I kept Tactics and ball control at a standard level, and the stats that they need less very low, as i focus on key stats. Worked amazingly for me so far, just something i liked to experiment with.

Just a brief description on it, for me so far i have used it on individual players and not bulk teams, for instance i haven't used it for a whole U18 side as i am in League One and hasn't really being viable for me. But hopefully i can develop this into something sustainable. Just wanted if anyone wanted to try it with me? And see what results that we can get. I know Jones is with me, lets hope we can get it working :D

Seems like a great idea and the results sound good. Maybe post a screenshot of Silva?
I wont be doing it for entire youth teams as im a competitive cunt and want my teams to win those competitions. But it would be extremely useful and viable for Celtic and other SPL teams as there reserves have no league games. I usually organise a lot of friendlies for them but this sounds like a way better way to develop them.

I've got a couple of 16/17 year olds in my U18's, and if I can boost their physical stats now, then I don't have to worry about it later and can focus fine tuning their technical aspects as they progress to the first team.

the only thing I'm unsure about, is how you go about it? Are you doing it differently for each player? and if so how do you judge it?

Well at the moment i am currently going about it differently for each player, as some players i am trying to it differently with, if you send a screenshot of the player, maybe i could try and get a mock up of what i am doing?

I'll be giving this a go with one of my youngsters. Though I'm sure I haven't done the sliders correctly.

Depends on what you are trying to achieve, the aim of mine tend to be aiming to improve the physicality of the player, and i tend to move ball control and tactics down to medium levels move the physical ones up, and sometimes look at not all the technical ones at intensive but i think bar the physical ones are the only ones that need moving up.

Here's three players; I just want an idea of what you'd do. All three are playing for my U18's atm.

I will do a mock up on what i would do for Lauga, firstly i would leave him on training for a full season, seen as he is 16 he has plenty of time to develop into a top player and if he has a full year on it the development should be obvious. After that year then start to look towards getting him game time.

Obviously his jumping and strength are decent so you can lower that if you wish and focus on tactics and ball control more. But i feel they can be learnt more in game where as physicality and the defence side need to be taught in training.

This sounds awesome Yamo. Would you be able to make a general training schedule for this?

I think if you make one, I will reject the offer of participating in the reserve leagues/under 18s league next season and have them on this schedule the whole year.

I'd have intense tactics and strength in order to improve his off the ball and composure as well as obviously his strength perhaps. Would then also obviously have high attacking and shooting in order for him to keep improving on the key attacking stats in the game. However others will probably have a better idea then what I do about what sort of training program to have

So, here's the deal: I've just signed 5 San Marinese nobodies for all of 25K to use them as experimental dogs. They're all on 5 year contracts, so, if, in 5 years, I've got someone... anyone really... bidding for even one of them, I proclaim this the ultimate success, because I've NEVER seen a San Marinese player be sold in my games (except one in 2008, but that was following a different thing. He was the ultimate technical player, but couldn't play for more than 20 minutes... And, he was mentored by Inzaghi since he was 15)

Deal?

It's actually also part of my theory that anyone can become a great player with enough hard work and the right surroundings

If I sell all of them, and make 1 million €, then it is a measured success. If I sell ONE of them and make 1 million €, then it's a superb success. And, if San Marino makes it further than last place in ANY competition... well... then it's just beyond all expectations

They will all have shit PA's and wont grow much. This strategy should optimise a players potential not make a player with no potential grow....

looks like a interesting theory, im gonna do it to the cheapest (less than 100k) regen i can pick up who has 2 1/2 stars potential or better. Hopefully someone who only plays 1 easy position thus making his key stats awesome for that position if he ends up shite anywhere else. Lets see what my youth intake is like on 1st july...

To be fair... the physical attributes have the least to do with PA... (or, at least, they should have the least to do with PA... especially the chaps with high "natural fitness")
