Most of the times when people write about their saves, I see that they manage to do a clear out. Not only are they selling young players for above their value, they are also selling older players for a lot of money.
I have been trying to do this for a long time for two obvious reasons:
1. Clear out salary.
2. Get more $$$s.
I can't seem to sell anyone above their value. All I get are loan offers. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?
Selling players.

I have same problem.
i guess some people transfer list players they want rid of then wait for interest from a few clubs and offer them that player for alot more than they want so they bid more for them.
ie say Modric for example
worth say 15mill in game offer him to clubs for say 40mill then they may offer 35mill for him
not 100% sure if that works all the time. may the odd one

From my experience, for any player that you actually want to sell (i.e. not good enough) you're going to have to offload him for less than his value. This is somewhat unfair if you consider the mark-up we have to pay on market values for AI owned players.
Players you'd actually want to keep, you can normally offload for their market value or a bit above. For example, I managed to get £32M for Cesc Fabregas, a key player at Arsenal, which is a decent percentage over his starting market value.
For old players (32+) , offload them for free. It's better just getting them of your wage bill instead of waiting for someone to offer you £100K because you've already had to spend that on wages.

If this is at the start of the game then you won't get any higher than their market values.
I tend to speak to the player first. Tell him I'm transfer listing him. This automatically puts them on the transfer list. Set their status to 'Not Needed'. this makes them more likely to accept an offer from another club (according to the ticker hints).
It's best to play them than to leave them out the squad. This gathers more interest in the player. Once they're wanted, offer them out at market value. If no one makes an offer, lower your asking price and offer again.
With players like Anelka & Malouda, you can afford to knock £2M off their sale price because that's what it'll cost you to hold onto them until January.

If I just want an old players wages off my wage bill, I offer them out for nothing, and most teams will still offer some sort of money for them.
It usually gets most players shifted if I don't want them anymore.
The ones who are truly wank, I just let them rot in the reserves and offer them out as often as I can.

Tbh i have being used a new method being offering them out on loan with wages done and an agreed fee, come the end of season pretty much no matter how he played they will pay that fee.
I used this technique on one of my deals. Think it was Chamakh at Barcelona. Had a pretty good season but I still wanted rid. Barcelona didn't take up the offer and he returned to training. Few days later and he jet setting back of to Catalonia for a higher fee than previously agreed

I have the same problem, even worse perhaps. I "offer to clubs" the guys I really dont want at substatntial knock down prices (e.g. a 500k player for 50k) but no one is interested. The only solution I can find is to be careful who I sign in the first place!
