Is there any benefit to having separate first team coaches and youth team coaches, as opposed to just having normal coaches who train both?
First thing I always do when joining a club is to offer all first team & youth team coaches new contracts as a normal 'coach' and then bin those that are shit/don't wanna change job roles. It seems a waste of money to have two separate teams when one will seemingly do, as their workload is never above 'light'.
Am I correct, or am I harming my team?

Surely they'd have less effect due to less time spent training a group of players?
So surely, it's opportunity cost in the fact you choose between training youth or first team - both are important.
I make my best coaches, Youth Coaches or First-Team Coaches - and then general 'coaches' are just bitch boys who collect the cones and make up the numbers so the players dont start a mutiny.

In reality, yes. But in the game? I'm not so sure. For example, I can give one coach tactics training for both first team players and youth team players and his workload never goes above light.

Fair enough.
I personally thought they would've considered time as an important variable in the case of having different classes of Coach, I don't think it's just aesthetic or purely for rep/status. Never had any confirmation from anyone knowledgeable though.
I've nearly completed my new backroom team. Just need to find 3 new Fitness Coaches then I'll start hiring/firing.

I dont think there is any disadvantages for only having "coaches".
I always get rid of my First Team coaches if they dont agree to just become coaches. I usually keep one or two youth team coaches to manage the under 19 though, im not sure why I just like it to be a youth coach that does that job
If it definatly doesnt have a negative effect then they need to look at it.
