Well, with Ali inspiring me to re-start playing FM08, I decided that I will use Israel and write a little story about it. Don't go expecting something amazing as I am still not really good at it but just so you know, for now, my goal is to at least qualify for the World Cup or Euros, something Israel hasn't been able to do more than once, all the way back in 1970.
Were the 70s too long ago?

So, after taking the job, I looked at the coaches, U21s manager and U19s manager. I sent most of the staff I had when I took the job home, as really, they just didn't seem good to be with the national team.
It did take a while to find the managers for the U21s and U19s but I did and I am happy with them

What happened?
Anyways, just played the England game, first game in charge.

We did control the game, 55% possession, 50% of our shots were on target, the real problem was that England are just too good. And maybe the fact that the players were nervous (you know, first time playing in front of 90000 people).

As you see, the odds of us going through are very low. We are one game ahead of all the teams in our group. The only thing that could help us is if Russia draw against England in the next round. We have two hard games, those being Russia and Croatia as well as a pretty easy game against Macedonia. I believe that we can win all the these. I trust my players!

This is going to be a long, long ride my friends.

Really frustrating. Our defence is shit but we still hold more possession than the other teams. Don't know what I need to do. We still have some sort of a chance at getting to second if we win our last two games, but we will need England to lose their last.

This is going to be a short story at this rate...

At least the U19s qualified from their group...
What do I do now? I have a couple more international breaks and I think that I will just use them for some lower ranked nations. Hard to say that when we are 61st in the world.
Well, I just booked us 2 friendlies in September, Canada and Finland. We will probably mess these up as well. Now, what do I do? Just holiday until the next selection?
