I've been thinking about doing a story for a while. so here goes.
I'm going to start unemployed, and with no other targets than starting with a club that has limited reputations/funds etc and seeing how far I can take them.
Here goes....

Two jobs have come available in September.
As a Stevenage fan, I've had to apply for that job, and I'll admit I'd rather have that than the Spurs job. The Spurs application was purely on a whim, I realise that it's a much longer shot than the Wales application.

My initial approach is going to certainly going to be on making sure that we defend solidly.
I don't have any kind of budget, so I'm going to be looking into free transfers and loans. Hopefully, I'll be able to fight my way to promotion and sell a few players with their reputations being enhanced and have a decent run in a cup competition to draw in some transfer funds for next year.
My Chief Scout has suggested a striker that looks like having great potential. With Boro lacking up front with the likes of Craig Reid and Ben May being beyond useless, I'm delighted to be presented with this guy (Who I can sign without having to negotiate with Kilmarnock, his parent club)

The last assessment before beginning to work on the tactics and training set up.
The current league standings.

We've currently won three, drawn three and lost three. Not consistent, and certainly a very typical Stevenage start to a season.
My main focus will be to steady the defence. In reality Boro are successful because we are solid at the back and I'd like to replicate this. Onto tactics.

So I have two tactics that I'm going to work on. Separate home and away tactics.
Home:

The idea of this tactic is to control the game. I want to retain possession and work the ball forward.
Away:

I want my team to hit teams on the counter away. I have a fairly fast squad and I think that away from home, where I can't really expect my current players to dominate, the counter attack is certainly my best option.
Lets get to my first game...

My first game in charge. My first loss.
Going behind on just 2 minutes seriously damaged the teams confidence, and they seemed to really struggle with getting themselves back into the game.

There certainly were some positive phases of play, with Craig Reid missing a number of chances. I cannot wait until I can get another striker in.
I'm going to continue to work with the tactics that I have set up, and will look for a couple of free/loan signings.

I'm back!
I've had massive problems with my ISP. They cut me off by accident due to my neighbours unpaid bill. The cheek!!
I've managed to get the service back, with 3 months free broadband, TV and Phone for a few weeks, I'm a few hundred quid richer than I was going to be.
I haven't got any game time today or tomorrow, but I'm hoping to smash some out then.
As I've not had the internet or TV, I've managed a LOT of gametime in the last few weeks, so I will give you all a very quick round up of my career at Boro so far, again, on Thursday....
