Pretty sure they did the same thing about South Africa when the world cup was there?

I wonder will there be one showing the London Riots when it Olympic time? :mook:

People were told not to wander around the streets as muggings and murders were rife in South Africa, this is a different threat; this is racism and violence specifically aimed at the English, as clearly stated by the fascist groups who spoke to the media. The English have a strong reputation for hooliganism and violence, so naturally these morons want to challenge English fans to a cock fight to prove they're superior. Also, Britain is known to be very liberal, and this is something these shaved monkeys hate with a passion, so it adds even more incentive to target the English fans who'll be viewed as advocates to an open society and racial equality. It's foolish to go out there.

Also, on a morally economic note, why take business and custom to these primitive mugs? Stay at home, save your money, invest it in local British shops and don't give these guys extra revenue.

Hazard says a lot of things...

But I'm not a fan of Ligue 1 so I don't really know a lot about him, but personally, from what I've seen over the past week, I'm happy without him.

Looking at his stature physically, I can see him being a bit like Adel Taarabt, and shining when he's a cut above, but he'll shy out as soon as he's getting beaten physically by someone who can match him technically. Then again, I may be wrong, there's some decent defenders in Ligue 1.

The thing with Hazard is, he's the main outlet at Lille so he's always running the show; moving to another team, a more established team, he's not going to be the golden boy he was at Lille; he'll see less of the ball, he'll be in a far more physical and demanding league, he'll have to earn his team-mate's confidence and respect, learn how he fits into Chelsea's system, and on top of it all he'll be under pressure to perform to the standard he's set himself after all this transfer nonsense.

There's every chance he'll be a revelation for Chelsea, certainly if they play through him, but I can't see him doing what he's done for Lille consistently enough to warrant such an expensive move (just like Torres). He strikes me as a selfish player, and one with an ego and a desperate need to be classed in the same bracket as Ronaldo and Messi, and with Torres in desperate need of constant service to justify his own outlandish transfer fee, it's going to be the Gerrard and Lampard dynamic for England all over again. I think he's made a huge mistake opting for Chelsea, to be totally honest, but I also think he didn't have a lot of choice when the two Manchester clubs looked at the kind of unjustified numbers associated with him.

@Kaz, no I meant Chokolate. No idea why I put your name; must have still had you on the brain after smashing one out over your Clockwork Orange pictures in the Mugshot Thread. The way you hold that cain when you're passed out…

@Corlett and @Kaz: People went off Hazard because he was an utter ballbag, playing three clubs off each other to get a better deal. The kid is on something like £170k a week at Chelsea, there's no way United are matching that, and you can be sure Man City can't afford to pay those wages when they've got so many over-paid players they don't want and can't move to other teams. A big factor for Hazard will have been playing time, yes, and that's probably why he didn't go to City, but United would have given him a far superior platform to better himself than Chelsea will do. Chelsea couldn't even finish above Newcastle this season, Man United, with a much shitter team than Chelsea's XI, pushed the best side in the league to the title on points. If Man United can do that with the players they had this season, with Hazard and fresh signings they'd surely be much better. Hazard himself would know that, but Chelsea offered more cash per week, obviously.

Now all of that is fine, but don't kid yourselves into thinking you're getting a player who's going to fight for you. He's a mercenary, he'll fight only for himself. He's already said Arsenal and Madrid were his preferences, and whilst Wenger will never stump up that kind of cash for him (fee or wages), Madrid will come calling for him at some point (they've said that themselves). In 4 years do you think a mercenary will opt to stay loyal to Chelsea or to move to one of the world's elite clubs? It's a no-brainer, and it'll cost Chelsea a lot of money if Hazard doesn't deliver immediately, because as I said before, he'll wind his contract down and will force him into a position where he controls his contract so he can move to Madrid if he wants. That's what mercenaries do.

That's my only point. I'm not hating on Chelsea. I'm pointing out that this deal isn't as good for you as you'd think. However, you do have Roman Rubles and money doesn't matter to you guys like it would other teams, so I guess it's a moot point for you.

He's coming to Chelsea lads, stop kidding yourselves.

Chelsea are welcome to him. He's exactly the kind of player who'd not be wanted by a respectable club -- someone who went there because of a little more money than other teams offered rather than because he was proud to wear the shirt.

Players like that always cost you when it counts most. Hazard might be a good talent, but do you really think you'll get the best of him if he only cares about his guarenteed paycheck?

He'll enjoy the club and money before moving to Madrid after forcing his way out of Chelsea within the next 4 years. It's written in the stars, you've seen it already with Lille. He's 21, by the time he's beginning to peak he'll be at Real.

And the best part is, with the amount Chelsea have paid, Hazard has to deliver immediately to get any value frim the deal, as you'll not get loads of money when he winds his contract down to wrestle his way out of the club. Nothing to be excited about, Corlett.
